In the middle of the bustling shopping district in Birmingham, located on the second floor in the heart of the Bullring the Mee-Cha stand is a mini haven for thirsty shoppers. The brightly coloured pink bar covered in their trademark pandas is impossible to miss and beckons you to enjoy this up and coming beverage.

On my first visit to the bar I was greeted by the friendly staff and when I disclosed that it was in fact my first bubble tea experience they were more than happy to describe the process to create my personalised drink. First you pick your flavour, choose whether you want to take it milky or fruity, then choose your tea, your style; are you a hot or cold person? And finally my favourite bit; choose what extra toppings you desire. I was recommended to try Bubble Tea assistant Reen's speciality; the strawberry and passion fruit slush, made with green tea and sprinkled with the popping bubbles that give an oh so satisfying pop in your mouth which causes the flavours to literally explode into your tastebuds. My refreshing drink is not only delicious but it is also a healthy fat free alternative to other drinks on the market.

When I cross the border back into Wales I am going to miss these bubble tea refreshments, and wish I would have found them earlier so I could have enjoyed them all summer long.

Bubble tea is not the only thing this establishment offers, they also serve fat-free frozen yoghurts coated in your favourite toppings and sauces for guilt free desserts. For more information on Mee-Cha visit their website here. I really would recommend you visit and try their amazing products.
